End biomes
Beyond the central island. New End biomes, varied island generation, themed sub-areas, custom structures.
The End on Sunday Market goes far beyond the central dragon island. The outer islands have new biome types, new structures, new mob variations — themed sub-areas like the void-glow biome, the chorus-overgrown plains, and the obsidian peaks.
If you've only visited the End to kill the dragon, you've seen 5% of what's there.
The central island
Same as vanilla — the dragon, the obsidian pillars, the end portal back. Standard dragon fight applies.
The outer islands
Step through an end gateway after the dragon kill. The outer islands are where Sunday Market's End really opens up.
New biomes you'll find
- Void-glow plains — End terrain dimly lit by ambient glow
- Chorus overgrowth — dense chorus tree forests
- Crystal cliffs — End terrain with embedded crystal formations
- Obsidian peaks — tall obsidian-and-end-stone mountains
- Shulker citadels — themed regions where shulker structures concentrate
- Pale void — sparse, eerie End terrain
- Mossy end — End terrain with vegetation creeping in
- Stellar fields — themed star-block decoration zones
You won't find these on the central island. They're outer-only.
New structures
End cities, end ships — all there. Plus:
- End capitals — large walled End structures with mob arenas and tier 3+ loot
- Shulker citadels — concentrated shulker spawn areas with mass loot
- Star ruins — ancient End structures with thematic loot
- Void temples — themed shrines in the pale void biome
- Crystal chambers — embedded in crystal cliffs
See Structures for what to find inside.
End travel
Pearls and ender chest
Ender pearls work in the End. Ender chests work in the End — and your inventory there is the same one you have in the overworld.
Elytra
Elytra is the End's signature reward. Get one (from end ships in vanilla end cities), use it for End traversal — outer islands are far apart and elytra makes the trip practical.
Jetpacks (alternative)
Jetpacks (see Automation → Jetpacks) work in the End and can be more controllable in the new End structures.
Sign teleporters
Set up sign teleporter pads at your favorite End locations for repeat trips. Pads + an elytra base means you can hop between outer islands at will.
End travel hazards
- The void — fall off an island, you die. No coming back from that fall.
- Endermen — vanilla rule (look at one, it attacks). Avoid eye contact in the End.
- Shulkers — vanilla rule (their bullets give Levitation, easy way to fall to your death)
- Phantoms — only attack genuinely AFK / insomniac players, but they can occur
- The new End mobs — themed variants in the new biomes
Strategy
First End trip
- Bring beds (no, beds don't explode in the End — they explode in the Nether)
- Wait, beds DO explode in the End too. Skip beds for the End.
- Bring food
- Bring a pearl stash for safe traversal
- Bring water bucket for clutch saves
After the dragon: head to the outer islands via end gateway. Explore. Don't fall off.
Builders' End
The End has unique blocks (end stone, purpur, crystals) that aren't in the overworld. A dedicated End base for crafting purposes makes sense — it's quiet, it's themed, it's away from spawn-area bustle.
Explorers' End
Outer islands are scattered. Plan multi-hour expeditions. Bring food, brews, recovery gear. Set sign teleporters at notable finds for quick return.
End builds for combat
The End's open-skybox aesthetic is great for arena builds. Some communities have built large PvP zones on End islands — empty space, dramatic lighting, no terrain interference.
End-themed brews and enchants
- Ender Spritz brew (see Signature drinks) — End-themed, dragon's-breath inspired
- End Affinity armor enchant — reduces damage in the End
- Ender Slayer weapon enchant — bonus damage to End mobs
- Last Call and other combat enchants — work everywhere, including the End
A complete End-trip kit: Ender Slayer sword + End Affinity armor + Feather Falling boots (for void-protection mitigation) + Ender Spritz brew before engagement.
Resources to seek
- Ender pearls — endermen drop them; the warped forest farm in the Nether is also great
- Chorus fruit — eat or craft into purpur blocks
- End crystals — crafted from glass, ghast tears, eye of ender (vanilla)
- Shulker shells — for shulker boxes (top-tier portable storage)
- Themed end blocks — from the new biomes for builds
