Sign teleporters
Build a teleport pad with one sign and one block. Pad-to-pad, any distance, no rank gate.
Sign teleporters are pad-to-pad teleport built from a sign on a block. Place a sign with [Teleporter] on the first line and the destination coordinates on lines 2–4. Step on the block above the sign and you teleport.
Available from day one. Build as many as you need. No rank gate.
Setup
- Pick the destination first. Stand exactly where you want to land. Note the X / Y / Z coordinates — e.g. X:100Y:64Z:-200 (press F3 on Java, or check your map / Settings → Game → Show Coordinates on Bedrock).
- Walk to your starting location.
- Place a block (any solid block) where you want the teleport pad to be.
- Place a sign on the side of that block at head height (or on top of any post).
- Fill the sign:
- Line 1:
[Teleporter] - Line 2: the X coordinate
- Line 3: the Y coordinate
- Line 4: the Z coordinate
- Line 1:
- Right-click the sign (or step on the block above it) to teleport.
Make it bidirectional
By default, a teleporter sign is one-way (start → destination). To make it bidirectional, build a matching sign at the destination pointing back to the start. Now both pads link to each other.
Range
There is no range cap — pads can link across thousands of blocks. They cannot cross dimensions, though. To travel between Overworld and Nether, use a portal.
If the destination is far away, the chunk where the destination sits needs to be loaded for the teleport to fire. Most spawns and busy areas are always loaded; deep wilderness pads may need a moment if no one's been there recently.
Visual feedback
When a teleporter activates, a small particle effect fires at both ends — a soft flash that signals "you're being moved." The particles are cosmetic only but help you confirm the teleport worked.
Use cases
Base ↔ mining quarry
Set a pad at home, another at your dig site. One click each way. Walking to a quarry is a 5-minute trip; teleporting is instant.
Base ↔ tavern
Keep your brewing room a single click from your sleeping quarters. Useful when you need to check on aging barrels every few hours.
Spawn ↔ outpost
Build an outpost a few thousand blocks out, place a return pad at spawn. Now your wilderness camp is one click from the spawn shops.
Pre-trip pad
Heading deep into a dangerous biome? Set a pad at your safe entry point and another at your destination. If you die, you respawn at home and can re-pad straight back to where you were.
Multi-stop travel network
Chain pads — pad A → pad B → pad C → pad D. With four pads at four corners of your operation, every spot is one click from every other spot.

Both are public-by-default same-dimension teleport pads. Sign teleporters are the cheap workhorse; runes are the premium tier with better safety and mob transport. Most players build both.
What sign teleporters can't do
- Cross dimensions — same dimension only (no Overworld ↔ Nether)
- Move with the user — they're physical pads, can't be carried
- Carry mobs — only the player teleports; for mob transport, use a Strange Block
Public teleport networks
Some communities build shared teleport networks — a hub of pads at spawn linked to outposts everyone can use. Etiquette: label them, keep them maintained, don't grief them. Public infrastructure is good for the server.
