Connecting from Java Edition
PC, Mac, Linux. Add the server, accept the resource pack, you're in.
Sunday Market runs Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.x compatible (current Minecraft version). Older Java clients (1.7+) connect via the version-compat layer — see Version compat.
| Address | marketsunday.com |
| Port | 25565 (default — usually omitted) |
Add the server
- Open Minecraft Java Edition.
- Click Multiplayer.
- Click Add Server.
- Server name: anything you want (
Sunday Marketworks). - Server address:
marketsunday.com - Click Done, then double-click the server entry to connect.
On first connect
You'll be prompted to download the server resource pack. Accept it — the pack carries:
- The Sunday Market brand fonts and item textures
- Custom item icons for backpacks, brews, and signature items
- The branded MOTD typography
Decline it and you'll see the prompt again on each join. To re-trigger the prompt manually, run /resource in chat.
Resource pack
The pack is required. Accepting it once stores it in your client cache, so subsequent joins are instant. If you accidentally clicked "decline forever," go to Multiplayer → Edit → Server Resource Packs → Enabled and re-join.
Account requirements
Sunday Market is online-mode, so you need a paid Java account. Cracked clients can't connect. (Bedrock players don't need a Java account — see Crossplay.)
Performance tips for Java
- Sodium / Iris: both fully allowed, both recommended
- OptiFine: allowed, but Sodium has better performance on most hardware
- Render distance: keep it reasonable; the server runs on a sane simulation distance and pushing client render very high doesn't help much past 8–10
- Shaders: allowed and encouraged
Troubleshooting
"Can't connect to server" — check that you typed the address correctly, including any subdomain or port. The Java port is the default 25565.
"Server out of date" / "Client out of date" — your Minecraft version doesn't match. The version-compat layer covers a wide range, but extreme outliers (very old or very new dev builds) may be rejected. Update to a current stable Java release.
Resource pack download stalls — your network may be blocking the pack URL. Try connecting once on a different network or checking your firewall. Re-trigger with /resource.
